Chapter 5
A heavy silence seemed to suffocate the three of them sitting there as Akshat struggled with the turmoil going on inside him as his eyes rested on the person sitting in front of him for the first time since he had arrived. The man he called Bhaiya had changed. Perhaps life had matured him or the weight of the crown had shaped him to what he represented today, but Akshat still respected him. Years of resentment and hurt hadn’t erased the memories of his childhood, filled with love, care and most importantly trust.. Deep down, he knew his sister was safe, but his mind whispered caution. Only he knew how he’d longed for his brother’s embrace, but that boy was gone, lost to the past. Akshat shook his head, emerging from his thoughts, and sighed, rubbing his face.
